Rugby Courses
The introductory courses, ie; Mini Tag and Tag Rugby, the RFU Community Leaders Award and Mini/Midi Contact Rugby are all designed to educate and improve coaches of modified (small sided) versions of rugby union.
The rest of the structure, ie; Levels 1,2, and 3 is mainly, though not exclusively, designed for coaches of full 15-a-side rugby. The RFU’s overall aim is to improve the quality of coaching through user-friendly, coach-centred courses.
MINI TAG AND TAG RUGBY
 Open entry to any level of coach over the age of 14
 3 hours duration
 Mini Tag and Tag Rugby coaching pack available to all coaches on completion of the course
 No formal assessment – on-course tutor appraisal
THE RFU COMMUNITY LEADERS AWARD
 Open entry to students over the 14
 5 hours duration
 Practical assessment
 2 hours community coaching delivery required to gain final award
START RUGBY COACHING
 A course/resource designed to help beginner coaches
 2-3 hour duration
SCHOOL INCENTIVE PROGRAMME
 RFU courses designed specifically for teachers
 The include : Tackling Safety, Front Row in Union, Coaching Contact, Advanced Coaching, Game 
Sense Approach to Coaching
 These courses can be delivered in schools
 2-3 hour duration
RFU/1ST4SPORT LEVEL 1 COACHING CERTIFICATE MINI/MIDI OR 15-A-SIDE OPTIONS
 Open entry to any level of coach
 Recognised as a qualification on the National Occupational Standards framework
 Designed as an introduction to coaching for new or inexperienced coaches working in the mini/midi or  15-a-side game
 Ongoing competency-bases assessment throughout the course
 23 hours duration
