Sportshall Athletics, Applemore College
November 29th 2008
This year’s Sportshall Championships were once again held at Applemore College, in the Sports Centre on Saturday 29th November.
Events were divided into three events of runs, throws and jumps. Each child participated in a run, throw and jump plus a relay. Competition was keen with the sportshall roof nearly coming off with all the noise and cheering especially during the relays.
Overall winners, Blackfield won a huge fourteen events whilst runners up Abbotswood A won five events. Other winners were Foxhills with three wins and New Milton with two.
Match result: 1.Blackfield “A” 182.5, 2.Abbotswood “A” 165.5, 3.Foxhills “A” 137.5, 4.Abbotswood “B” 127.5, 5.Blackfield “B” 108, 6.Abbotswood “C” 109.5, 7.New Milton 98.5, 8.Foxhills “B” 73.5
The event was supported by New Forest Junior Athletics Club, Testwood Sports College BTEC group and the equipment was provided by Abbotswood Junior School.
