New Forest Primary Rounders -
Pennington Junior School

There were fourteen teams that participated in the Primary Schools Rounders festival at Pennington Junior School this year, with teams coming from South Baddesley, Marchwood, Calmore to name a few.
Abbotswood, Wildground and home team Pennington A set a high standard in the group stages with 100% records to their names. All three teams looked a dead cert to make it into the semi finals.
As usual with the Primary School Sports things didn’t go as expected and Pennington took an early exit in the Quarter-Finals losing by half a rounder to a determined Blackfield side.
Other Semi Finalists came from Wildground, high scoring Abbotswood and Milford-on-Sea. The Semi Finals again proved a tough affair but it was the Abbotswood and Milford sluggers that helped them progress through to this year’s final.
Third place was won by Wildground Junior School, after they beat off a strong Blackfield side. The final was also very close with Abbotswood winning by one rounder to win the New Forest Rounders title for the first time in their history.
A massive well done to all the teams that took part in a fantastic tournament, especially in the scorching weather!
