  Boys Basketball, Noadswood School
Wednesday 17th December 2008

In December saw the first Year 7 & 8 basketball competition take place in the partnership. The hosts for this year’s competition were Noadswood School who did a great job in helping prepare two courts for a hard fought competition!

In the early group stages it appeared that the front runners were the hosts, with stiff competition coming from Priestlands A and Applemore. This proved to be the case after the first group stages with Noadswood finishing top on 12 pts, with Priestlands A and Applemore close behind on 9 and 6 pts respectively. The great play continued in the semi finals which were also hard fought affairs, with Applemore going down to Noadswood 20pts to 8 and a situation that saw both Priestlands teams facing each other. Priestlands A came through as the victors in that match, beating their B team as they had done in the league stages.

This meant that the hosts Noadswood were in the 1st ever 7 & 8 final, up against Priestlands A. After some really exciting basketball in the final the result went to the form team and Noadswood were triumphant! Applemore managed to restore some pride in the 3rd and 4th play off game winning through against a battling Priestlands B side. All teams should be proud of there achievements on the night and look forward to avenging defeat in next years competition!

Congratulations to Noadswood will now go through to represent the NFSSP in the next round of the competition and we wish them all the luck and success in the Hampshire knock out rounds.
