Mini Cross Country Relays

This event was due to be run back in March 2008 but after two date cancellations due to bad weather it finally got under way on Wednesday 7th May at Ashley Junior School, and what a day it was!

The sun shone continuously and so did the children. This event was back by popular demand after last year’s inaugural event. There were over 210 children present for this event, a fantastic amount and a record for year 3 and 4, almost 50 more than last year.

The first race was won by Orchard School (team 18), with Abbotswood School (team 26) finishing second, just in front of New Milton (team 30), with Blackfield finishing in 4th (team 15) and Poulner finishing in 5th (team 23). The second race was won by last years overall winners Durlston Court (team 21), second were Orchard (team 18), third were Blackfield (team 15), fourth were Abbotswood (team 27) and in fifth place were Orchard (team 19).

The two race results were combined to find the team with the overall lowest points. In fifth place were Ashley (team 1) and Abbotswood (team 27), in fourth place were Abbotswood (team 26), in third place were Durlston Court (team 21), in second place were Blackfield (team 15) and in first place were Orchard (team 17).
