Abbotswood Junior School

This years Badminton event was again hosted by Abbotswood Junior School and proved to be another exciting event in the Primary Sports calendar.
The format of this year’s festival followed last years, which meant all schools were competing against each other and were engaged right until the end. They were split into two groups of four, with the top two teams progressing into the main competition and the bottom two teams moving into the ‘sub group’.
The games were a lot closer in the second phase with teams playing against similar playing abilities.

All of the ‘A’ teams made it into the ‘main group’, with the ‘B’ teams battling it out in the ‘sub group’. Abbotswood B team proved too strong for the other ‘B’ teams to win the sub group.
In the main group, it was New Milton A who came out on top winning all of their matches and were crowned the New Forest Badminton champions for 2009.
