NFPSS Summer Athletics 2007

This year saw yet another exciting start to the Summer Athletics programme. With a record 200 boys and girls competing in 80m sprint, 600m, long jump, javelin and relay events. This unique experience was held over a six week period with Durlston Court School, Blackfield Primary School and Poulner Junior School playing the hosts.

Event records were broken by Tyler Hole in the 80m and Long Jump (Poulner), Jessica Carey for the Javelin (Poulner) and William Dix in the 80m (Durlston Court). This years event was one of the closest finishes to the programme in years as Poulner and Abbotswood shared the trophy for the girl’s competition with Durlston Court and Orchard sharing the boy’s competition.

The overall winners were Orchard Junior School with Brockenhurst Primary picking up the Merit Award. The event was once again excellently delivered by Tim Wilding of New Forest Juniors Athletics Club, despite the bad whether.
