New Forest Primary School Sport Badminton Event

Abbotswood Junior School, Ashley Junior School and Blackfield Primary School came together to participate in the Primary Schools Badminton festival at Abbotswood in Totton on Wednesday 14th March. Badminton is a minority sport within Primary schools, so to get over 30 children participating in a competition is a fantastic achievement.

The event saw all of the teams (two from Abbotswood, three from Ashley and two from Blackfield) play against each other. Throughout the event there was an excellent atmosphere with all teams playing to a very good standard. In the end it was Abbotswood who piped Ashley to first place, winning only on points conceded as their overall points and points scored were the same after five matches. This event will hopefully grow from strength to strength over the next couple of years. Well done to all the teams who participated.

1st Abbotswood; 2nd Ashley A; 3rd Blackfield A; 4th Blackfield B; 5th Ashley B; 6th Blackfield C.
